Group Themes & IncentivesTucson is the perfect place to plan activities center around the Old West, Southwest, and regional cultural themes.  There are many activities your group can experience only in Tucson.  Here are just a few ideas to get you started.  The MTCVB's extensive roster of partners can help you implement many of them. 

Cowboy Day
Cattle drive, trail ride, breakfast cookout in the desert, hayrides, steak cookout, cowboy music, sing-along, electronic quick draw, roping demonstrations, participatory rodeo, casino night, can-can dancers, cantina show.

Mexican Festival
Folklorico dancers, mariachi music, Mexican food, paper flowers, pinatas.  Visit "Old Mexico" on a trip to Nogales, Mexico.

Tucson Dine-A-Round
From appetizers to dessert at Tucson's finest. Sample regional cuisine and native cooking techniques.

University of Arizona
Theatrical performances, Museum of Art, and others.  Outdoor receptions. Post-performance buffet at host hotel.

Music Under the Stars
Wine and cheese, box dinner, music by the Tucson Pops Orchestra or string ensemble.

Wagon Train
Teepees and wagons surrounding the area.  Steak dinner, Indian frybread, cowboy music, marching Buffalo Soldiers.  Personalized and custom-fit cowboy hats.

Entertainment
Restaurants featuring jazz, a Frank Sinatra night, mariachi music, Country Western dancing. Try Tucson's hilarious melodrama theater. 

Astronomy
"Astronomy Capital of the World" - visit the observatories or hold a stargazers party with telescopes brought in. 

Baseball
The Chicago White Sox, Colorado Rockies, and the Arizona Diamondbacks hold spring training in March. The Tucson Sidewinders play a longer season during summer months.

Vigilantes
Old West shoot-outs featuring your VIPs, or a motorcoach hold-up.

Shopping
Event in an outdoor plaza or indoor center - historic and contemporary. Southwest gifts and apparel shopping.

Desert Potpourri
Jeep rides.  Hayrides, narrative nature walks. Horseback riding, hiking, biking, tennis, golf.  Southwestern/historical fashion show.

Rodeo
Enjoy a real one (seasonal) or put on a participatory rodeo with calf calling, goat herding, pig ribbon tying, wagon pulls.

Tombstone
Visit "The Town Too Tough To Die." Follow the footsteps of celebrated old Westerners such as Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday to the OK Corral, Bird Cage Theatre, the Crystal Palace, and Boothill Cemetary.

Hot Air Ballooning
Fly up, up, and away and enjoy a spectacular view of the mountains and desert floor. Champagne breakfast can be included.  Usually Oct.-June.

Cultural Evening
Tucson is one of only a few cities in America that has its own ballet, theater, opera, and symphony (seasonal).

Dining in the Desert
Enjoy the sunset along with your choice of Western, Mexican, Southwestern, or elegant black-tie affair.

Cactus & More
Stroll through botanical gardens, parks, cactus greenhouses, and our world-famous Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, or take a ground tram from the desert floor to about 4,000 feet into the Santa Catalina Mountains.

Enjoy a tour of the real "Old Pueblo," guided or self-guided.

Wine Tasting
Surprised? Southern Arizona is a wine-growing region where you can enjoy tours and tastings at working vineyards.
